Through Danny Hill’s series of mappings and models for his thesis project; Cultivating the Field he investigates how the simple tool we use in everyday agricultural practices shape the broader landscape. The farming tool is a necessary and active mechanism in generating the map. Whilst he focuses the landscape of central United States, he is interested in central pivot irrigation systems, and the operations of the Mississippi River Levee. He then ponders a new set of tool that attach themselves to this remapped landscape.
